CHIROPRACTIC ASSISTISTANT FT / PT

Bilingual Preferred - Speaking English and Spanish fluently.

A chiropractic assistant works under the direction of the Dr. and the Office Manager to provide administrative support and help with clinical tasks to ensure the practice runs smoothly. They’re involved with tasks such as answering phone calls, booking appointments, processing payments, and responding to emails. Chiropractic assistants may work full or part-time, depending on the practice’s requirements, and often spend time working the front desk of the practice. This job can involve long hours, as well as evenings as needed. Chiropractic assistants should be friendly and professional at all times, be organized, and comfortable managing their time without supervision.

Chiropractic Assistant Duties and Responsibilities

  • Preparing treatment rooms for patient examinations as per appointments.
  • Conducting interviews with patients and obtaining medical information of patients.
  • Assisting physician in escorting patients to examination systems.
  • Maintaining a record of patients medical history and analyzing test results
  • Greet Patients - Serve as the face of the practice and are responsible for greeting patients, checking them in to their appointments, and maintaining an orderly waiting room. They also escort patients to exam areas and explain any required procedures to prepare the patient for their treatment.
  • Take Diagnostic Information - Help to keep patient information up to date to assist the chiropractor with their examination and treatment plans for patients, such as taking blood pressure, temperature, weight, and height.
  • Manage the Practice’s Schedule - Maintaining an organized schedule is a key part of a chiropractic assistant’s daily tasks, from making appointments for patients to checking when the chiropractor is available, as well as confirming the appointment beforehand to check that the patient will be on time.
  • Process Payments - Check with a patient when they arrive for their appointment how they will be paying for their treatment, and then process payments as necessary if the treatment isn’t covered by insurance companies.
  • Order Office Supplies - Part of the responsibility of maintaining the office involves checking that stationary supplies are kept in stock as well as checking that the practice has a sufficient number of gowns and towels.
  • Distribute Information - Following the chiropractor’s instructions, chiropractic assistants distribute educational information to patients about their treatment and diagnoses, including any information that will help them with ongoing exercises that can help speed up their healing.
